Updated over 8 months ago

As an advisor, managing your clients' investment plans is a dynamic process that requires adjustments to align with changing goals and market conditions. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to edit an existing plan within our platform, ensuring that you can efficiently update investment strategies and assets as needed.

Step 1: Access the Plans Area of investGrade

  • Log In: Begin by logging into your account to access your main dashboard.

  • Navigate to Plans: Find and click on the "Plans" section, where all your managed investment plans are listed.

Step 2: Select the Plan to Edit

  • Choose the Plan: Browse through your list of investment plans and click on the name of the plan you wish to edit. This will take you to the plan's lineup view.

Step 3: Edit or Modify Plan

There are several ways that you can edit your plan lineup (annotated in screenshot)

A. Add Funds

This initiates the Add Fund flow. Within this flow, you may search for funds via a ticker symbol, secID, or its fund name.

1. Search for the fund you would like to add.

2. You will be presented with a list of funds returned that match your search input.

3. Select the fund to add (Note: You can not select multiple funds in this flow. To add multiple funds, before searching, click the 'By List' option).

4. Once the fund is selected, click 'Next' to progress to the 'Lineup Change Date' step.

Lineup Change Date

In this step, you can add the fund to your plan immediately by setting an effective date (A) up to 1-year in the past from present day or schedule the fund to be added to your plan by selecting the 'Propose date' option (B).

A. Effective Date

By setting an effective date, the fund will show up immediately in your lineup. You may choose an effective date up to 1-year in the past from present day.

You can not set a future effective date. If you need to use a future date, use the 'Propose Date' option to schedule the change.

B. Proposed Date (Schedule Lineup Change)

By proposing a lineup change date, it will schedule the fund to be added and will be shown as a 'Scheduled Lineup Change' and will not be visible in your plan lineup.
To view the scheduled lineup changes present on the plan, click on the 'Scheduled lineup changes' link underneath the plan name.

This will open a side panel from the right side of the screen with details of all past due, upcoming, and to be determined lineup changes.

Once the fund has been given an effective or proposed date of change, click 'Confirm' to finish.

Once Confirming the fund to be added, you will see a 'Summary' of your actions.

If you are finished adding funds to your plan, you may click 'Done'. If you would like to add more funds, click the 'Add More Fund(s)' button.

Add By List

If you already have a list of funds ready to add:

  • Click the 'By List' option

  • Copy the ticker symbols (or secID's) from your pre-existing list

  • Paste the list into the search field

The search will return any funds that are found in the investGrade System. If there are some funds that are not found, it will only return the funds that are available.

If your list of funds to add looks correct, click the 'Next' button to progress to the 'Lineup Change Date' step.
